Tigers v Giants

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Tigers v Giants
Tigers tried out Sugiyama and Nohmi today and discovered that both were somewhat improved though not very good. Giants tried out Greisinger who continued his dominance of the Tigers. All in all Giants had pretty much a full team out and Tigers were still trying people out. Giants only just won. Tigers first big chance came in the third when they loaded the bases with one out. However, Greisinger was up to the task and got the next two batters. Up until the third Nohmi had pitched well and Tigers had dominated but for some reason Mayumi switched to Sugiyama.

He did well for the first two innings then got into trouble in the sixth loading the bases and issuing a walk in to give the Giants the lead. This was followed up in the seventh by a pinch hit run off Uezono and the Giants were two runs up. Toritani responded with a solo home run in the eighth and the score was 2-1. It stayed that way Giants just scraping home. With a full team the Tigers could have won this game so it was encouraging. Mench though may not be starting right - he is facing competition from Lin and Sakurai and at the moment Sakurai is the more promising. He needs to pick up the pace very significantly.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
