It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. Fielder was a Fourth Round draft choice of the Kansas City Royals in 1982 after starring at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In 13 Major League seasons, “Big Daddy” hit 319 homers and drove in 1,008 runs while compiling a career .255 batting average. Fielder stunned major league fans by amassing 95 homers and 265 RBI in two years (1990-1991) with the Detroit Tigers. While he never again swung the bat at this pace, Fielder remained a feared slugger until his retirement in 1998. Fielder’s son, Prince, has carried on the “Big Daddy” tradition as a slugging major leaguer, most recently batting .281 with 39 homers and 97 RBI in 2007, so it must run in the family!
