Bummer. Kanemoto blew his two chances and now looks like his 2000th hit will have to come on the road...

Given that series usually go 2-1 it may have avoided a Dragons victory. Rather than a 1.5 game lead which would have resulted from said possible victory, Tigers retain a 2.5 game lead.

Oh come on, Christopher - why all the pessimism? Surely it could equally be argued that the Dragons should regard themselves lucky to have come away from Koshien only 2.5 games behind and not 3.5! A sweep of the Dragons at Koshien was eminately possible, given how hot the Tigers are at the moment.

Indeed one could argue that but is it realistic? With two tight victories and Kawakami burning to prove himself again, a sweep - while not being outside the bounds of possiblity - would have been extremely unlikely. I agree the Tigers are hot but maybe not that hot.

Well you can't get much hotter than .813. But gee, Christopher, lighten up will ya! This is fun - the Tigers are winning, the Giants are losing - why try to overanalyze everything? The Tigers will get their sweeps this year - why couldn't they have started with the Dragons? No reason why not!
