Another practice game

Tigers lost this game as well 5-3. Iwata opened against he Buffaloes and was excellent giving up only one hit. Vogelsong opened for the Buffaloes and conceeded one run to a Mench sacrifice fly. He conceeded another run to Arai in the third. Resop followed Ishikawa for the fourth and gave up five runs in that innings putting the Buffaloes ahead. Tigers got a run in the ninth from an Arai sacrifice fly but that was all. Tigers relief after Resop was sound and the Buffaloes generated only one hit after the fourth.

Kubota's recovery is not proceeding as planned. He also has a ganglion cyst which will need treatment. Any hope of him starting the season is looking unlikely.

Why did Resop give 5 runs up? Defense working on plays failed. Run scored. Error on shortstop, run score. Take away the defense problems, things change.
