Does Sajikihara's high number indicate that he'll be starting at ni-gun yet again?

No, Sajikihara has been moved to the Ikusei (development) squad. All players with numbers over 100 are part of that squad. His pay has also been reduced to 5.5 million from 17 million and it looks like he's very much out of favour. He has had arm surgery recently but there seems to be trouble on other fronts as well.

Wow, too bad they think so unfavorably of him. I know he had injuries in the past, so was rooting for him to make a consistent return to the main team. He had some decent stuff the past year or two. But when the Tigers coaches decide they don't like you, you're done. Just look at Uezono and his weird career trajectory.

With the signing of Kobayashi there was a small reshuffle of numbers. Kobayashi of course got 41 and Uezono took No. 47. As a result Shiranita will wear No. 64
