Some news on ex-Tigers players. The Tigers management would like to offer Jeff Williams a scouting position. If this is accepted he would be responsible for the West Coast with Andy Sheets covering the East Coast. Let's hope they have more success than in the recent past. Yabu will become a ni-gun coach with Tigers. He will handle pitching of course.

Tigers management have indicated to Kanoh that they don't mind him training as a catcher but they still see him mainly as an outfielder. Kyuji Fujikawa has also put his oar into things by saying that he thinks Kanoh should be a catcher. At last we have someone showing a bit of sense.

Yabu is going to wear No. 80 as a coach. He apparently phoned Okada (the previous wearer of the number) to ask his permission.
