Tigers signed Marcos Vechionacci to an ikusei contract. I am looking forward to seeing how they render that in katakana. I suppose Tigers see some potential and he's cheap but it seems a strange move.

Not so strange at all. The Tigers often follow the Giants' moves. And since the Giants have been having some success with the Ikusei system (with foreigners even), it's only natural that the Tigers follow.

Chasing after a 2A player even for your development squad is rather strange. I do wonder about our management - but they aren't following the Giants. Mayumi is strange.
