Too loose by far

Against a rather weak Hawks side one would have expected Tigers to win but in the second game of the series at Yahoo Dome (7th March) they contrived to lose 1-0. Tigers outhit Hawks 5-3 but failed to exploit the chances they created. Instead their pitchers issued a series of 8 walks compared to Hawks one. Kobayashi started the game and managed to walk two in the first innings but settled down. The damage came with a poor pitching session from Kojima who gave up the only run of the game - a left field single to Hosokawa in the seventh.
