This game was tight and the Carp had their chances to win but failed to take advantage. Komiyama caught and made a really good case for being the starting catcher looking assured and confident. Teamed with Messenger he was able to deal with the Carp batting very effectively. Fujii made his return in the latter stages of the game and was frankly poor almost blowing the game in the ninth innings. Tigers struggled to deal with Carp's pitching and the only run of the game resulted from a Carp error in the sixth. 1-0 Tigers
