Tigers failed in their attempt to sign Nakata who will now play for Softbank. Tsuruoka is not going to move and Kubo has decided to switch teams. He will join DeNA BayStars from next season. Tigers are going to have to rely on their under-prepared younger pitchers. Definitely time to sack Nakanishi - the useless pitching coach.

I would think that things are looking bright with the signing of closer Oh from Korea. Untried, sure. But he's got to be better than having Kubo at the end of a game.

Agreed if he adjusts well - though Fukuhara also did relatively well in the closer role. Kubo was going to return to the starting rotation and Tigers now have a problem here having messed up in their development of the younger pitchers. They are short of possibly three starters now.

There is a lot of potential among the young pitchers. Maybe this will be the opportunity to actually stick with them and let them develop rather than sending them down to 2-gun every time they give up a lead or more than a couple runs in a start.
