April MVPs

April MVPs
NPB has announced the MVP's for the month of April, and the Pacific League award winners are Lotte's Tsuyoshi Nishioka for batting, and Softbank's Toshiya Sugiuchi for pitching. The third year Nishioka hit .340 for the month with 4 triples, 10 stolen bases, and a .577 average with runners in scoring position for his first Monthly MVP award. Sugiuchi picked up his second award, his first in 2 years, for going 4-0 in April, pitching 23 2/3 consecutive scoreles innings at one point, along with one complete game shutout.

For the Central League, the MVP's were Hanshin's Norihiro Akahoshi for batting, and Chunichi's Hitoki Iwase for pitching. Akahoshi hit .365 with 42 hits and 24 runs scored, while Iwase pitched 10 innings in the month good for 1 win and 8 saves. Both CL players received the award for the first time.
