Yomiuri are thinking of re-appointing Nabetsune (Tsuneo Watanabe) to the post of Giants' president. Apparently with him playing a more prominent role, the Giants will do better.

I'm not so sure they will do better, but will be subject to more crictism by him of the team, and scrutiny from others.
Anyway, Watanabe is still with Yomiuri, just not at the post mentioned, as he's the chairman of the Yomiuri Shimbun Group. Also, I would be very susprised that Nabestune isn't still pulling strings and calling the shots dealing with the Giants.
