Darvish Wins First Game
Nippon Ham's pitcher Yu Darvish won in his debut against the Carp. Darvish came three outs short of a complete game shutout, pitching 8 innings, giving up 2 runs, 9 hits, struck out 3, and walked 3. [News - Japan Ball] [Scoreboard - in Japanese]

Great stuff! He almost had a shutout in his debut. And a high school grad getting a win on his first trip to the NPB mound as a starter hasn't happened since Matsuzaka 6 years ago! Looking forward to seeing Darvish in Tokorozawa or Chiba.

Yu Darvish won his second game against the Seibu Lions. Darvish allowed 2 runs, 5 hits, struck out 4, and walked 5.

Darvish out-dueled Lion ace Daisuke Matsunaka who has been hit with hard luck this year (a 5 and 9 record with a 2.36 ERA).
