Kuroki Out Until Mid-May

Kuroki Out Until Mid-May
Lotte's ace pitcher, "Johnny" Kuroki, is healing slower than expected after getting a ground ball come-backer off of his left shin on 4/10, Lotte's only win against the Fighters so far this season. He can now walk on the leg, and play catch, but "[ u ]ntil I can start running on it, I can't pitch."With one out and a 10 run lead over the dreaded Nippon Ham Fighters on 4/10, Kuroki got a come-backer that bounced off of his left shin and to short. Kosaka fielded the ball and threw the runner out, but that was all she wrote for Kuroki. He left the game one out away from becoming the first 4 game winner this season - something that Daiei's Raggio just managed to accomplish last night (4/19).

After giving up 3 runs in the first inning of opening day against the Lions, Kuroki hasn't surrendered another run in the following 28 and 2/3rds innings, making his ERA a league leading 0.91. Lotte's Ono (1.55) and Katoh (2.08) are currently ranked 3rd and 4th in the Pacific League, being a major factor behind Lotte's league leading 3.18 combined ERA.

Get well soon, Johnny!

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
