Hawks Sign Yang
The Softbank Hawks announced they have come to terms with Taiwan National Team pitcher Yang Yao-shun, Tuesday. Details on the contract are still unknown at this moment. Yang also played outfield and DH at the Asian Championship at Miyazaki in May. The left hander is the elder brother of Nippon Ham Fighters' recent high school draftee Yang Chung-ju. Yang was signed to a 2 year deal worth 56 million yen, which also included a 40 million yen signing bonus.

Yang said at his press conference, "I'm glad to play for one of the top teams in Japan. I would like to succeed as a pitcher." Hawks manager Sadahuru Oh said about Yang, "Yang's moves in the field clearly show his natural talents. I see him as a key member of the team from the beginning of next season."
