Giants, Noguchi Sign 2 Year Deal
The Yomiuri Giants signed free agent pitcher Shigeki Noguchi to a 2 year contract worth 200 million (2-oku) yen, Thursday. Noguchi went 3-6 with a 4.00 ERA in 13 games with the Chunichi Dragons this past year.

Noguchi has a career 80-78 record with a 3.67 ERA in his 12 year career with the Dragons.

If you're left handed and adequate you'll stay in baseball for a while.

Noguchi had a few good seasons a while back, but let's see if he can put up a few more.

This is a good move only because their staff is such a mess. They should have paid for Noguchi by releasing Kuwata, and I hope that they look at Shigeki as a holding pattern while some of their younger arms get a little more seasoning rather than as a long term solution.

By himself, though, Noguchi is no great shakes.
