2006 Hall of Fame Class

2006 Hall of Fame Class
The 2006 Hall of Fame class was announced, Tuesday. The elected nominees were:
  • Former three-time home-run king Hiromitsu Kadota who hit 567 HRs and 1,678 RBI with 2,566 hits.
  • Former ace pitcher Hisashi Yamada who went 284-166 with 43 SVs and won the MVP for 3 straight years from 1976 to 1978, led the league in wins three times, and league in ERA two times.
  • Former Dragons infielder Morimichi Takagi who had 2,274 hits over his 21 year career.
  • Former Nishitestu Lions and commentator Yasumitsu Toyoda who helped Nishitestu win three titles as manager from 1956 and was a notable commentator.
  • Former baseball commisioner Hiromori Kawashima who was CL president in 1988 and NPB commissioner from 1998-2004.
