Moss to Try Out with BayStars

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Moss to Try Out with BayStars
Pitcher Damian Moss will try out with the Yokohama BayStars, the team announced.

Moss will tryout with the team, and began working out for the team yesterday. Though, the BayStars' front office forgot to tell manager Kazuhiko Ushijima, as he was caught off-guard when he was introduced to Moss.

Moss went 9-7 with a 3.73 ERA in 25 games with AAA Tacoma last year [Minor League Stats]. Moss has a career 22-19 record with a 4.50 ERA in 74 games. Moss has played with the Braves, San Fransisco Giants, the Orioles, and the Devil Rays. Moss was also suspended 15 games last year for testing postive for steroids. [Baseball-Reference]

The BayStars said on the 11th, that they will pass on Moss. One coach remarked that "Moss has a nice variety of pitches, but nothing we can project as helping us." [Full Japan Baseball Daily Article]

Yeah they'll pass on Moss because they have such a great stable of quality arms in that organization, and their ability to scout internationally is highly prolific.

They're always at the bottom of that CL pile for a reason.

Seriously, Guest.

How do you pass on Moss? He has had one bad year and then bounced back last year. He sould have been in the big leagues with the Mariners last year.
