I like, althought I was under the impression green was going to be introduced as a color. I was hoping for a more visible "Tokyo" on the shirt, but I like it on the sleeve. I don't like the lack of pinstripes and the new ad on the front of the home jersey.

They look alright, kinda cartoony, but maybe that's because of the outlined font. I don't like it more than the previous ones, but then again, new things take time to get used to. "Tokyo" only made it onto the sleeves, eh.

Personally I'm glad to see the lack of the pinstripes, never liked them on the old home shirt.
Yes, it would have been nice to see a more prominent Tokyo on the shirt, but until someone buys the team it will remain as an advertising vehicle for Yakult, so I guess you can't blame them for not surrendering their name from the road jersey.
Overall I'm pleased. They've improved on the home jersey and the new road jersey is my favourite of the two - I loved the old road jersey, too.
And anyone who has seen their fan club gear this year (think green, green with a little more green) should be thankful the trend didn't continue to the uniforms!

Those are nice uniforms - I look forward to seeing them on opening day when they play the Tigers.

Hope the Swallows' on-line store will start carrying the new replicas soon. I want a Furuta road jersey.

They have a new on-line shop which carries a load of the new design stuff. The replica jerseys will be available from April.

As a Swallows fan of 20 years, it is sad and disappointing that the red pinstripes on the home uniforms are gone (or abolished).

I like these uniforms just fine, too. I think NPB needs to have more throwback jerseys, because my favorite is when Hanshin uses their old uniforms during inter-league home games. It'd be cool to see Orix wearing Kintetsu Buffaloes uniforms and such.

Yeah, throwbacks would be cool. Swallows wearing the lightblue pullovers and Lions wearing the bright blue unis. After the success of the Tigers' throwbacks, I'm surprised other clubs haven't jumped on the opportunity. Such a marketing/merchandizing opportunity.

Sadly, I don't see that happening with the merger, it'd just look too strange and seem out of place. Same with them wearing Orix BlueWave throwbacks. With both Buffaloes and BlueWave players there, I don't see it looking right.

The home uni is pretty good, but I really liked their pinstripe unis a lot. I generally don't like dark jerseys at all, but I like the cleaner look of their old road shirts more than the new ones.

What's with the hats made by "New Era"? Will they be of better quality than the old replicas that used to be sold?

Speaking of the Swallows, I saw their new uniforms in action today and I have to say that they look awfully similar to the Dragons' uniforms. The way the names are written on the back is even similar. The thick stripe on the pants stops halfway on the Swallows' uniforms and they have red mixed in on the "Swallows" part of the uniform, but other than that we're talking almost an exact facsimile.
As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I really like them. There are exactly what I had hoped for - a refinement on their existing uniforms rather then a total overhaul.
