Good effort by Lin ruined by Eagles bullpen
A quality start by first year NPB pitcher Lin Ying-chieh was ruined by the Rakuten Eagles lackustre bullpen yesterday in a 3-1 loss to the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks.

Lin pitched neck and neck with Kazumi Saito of the Hawks and led 1-0 before turning the ball over to the bullpen. Shinichiro Koyama came on and gave up two runs while Toyohiro Yoshida gave up one.

In eight innings Lin surrendered three hits, five walks and struck out one batter.

Lin's a classy guy, greeting Koyama with a smile in the dugout.

I guess he can expect more of the same throughout the year because, has the Eagles bullpen been improved over the offseason?

Doesn't look like it. I've been watching their games.
