Jeff Williams Back Soon

Jeff Williams Back Soon
SanSpo reports today that injured Hanshin reliever Jeff Williams might be back in the squad as early as May 12.

Williams underwent another round of surgery on his knee in March, and has been recovering and rehabilitating in Arizona, according to SanSpo. He arrived back in Japan yesterday, is scheduled to begin pitching in the bullpen at Naruohama (Hanshin's ni-gun ground) today, and may be back in the top squad on May 12.

Given that Sajikihara gave up four runs last night, this is welcome news. Despite some early wobbles, the return of the "JFK" relief combination, as well as good recent form from Darwin Cubillan and Takahito Kanazawa mean the Tigers' bullpen looks quite strong.

It will be great to have him back, and hopefully he can get into form quickly. It could be a good pennant race in the CL this year, so the Tigers will need that bullpen to be as good as last year.
