Chiba's M. Kobayashi Named Inter-League MVP
Chiba Lotte Marines' closer Masahide Kobayashi was named Inter-League MVP, as he finished with a 3-0 record with 13 saves and a 0.47 ERA.

The Marines went 23-13-0 in inter-league games, finishing first for the second year in a row since the beginning of inter-league play. Kobayashi won 2 million yen in prize money. [Full Japan Ball Story]
