Sasaki Returns
In a press conference held on January 20, in front of a multi-national press numbering around 200, Sasaki Kazuhiro announced that he has decided to return to Japan to play baseball. Nikkan Sports has published what his schedule (based on Japan Standard Time) will look like for the next couple of weeks:
    1/21-23 Processing for waivers
1/24 Becomes a free agent, Yokohama to enquire about his position
1/25-29 Go to Seattle to handle paperwork
    1/30 Return to Japan
    1/31 Negotiate with Yokohama
2/ 1 Join the 'Stars at Okinawa camp
While everyone here is sure that Sasaki will return to Yokohama, the BayStars aren't permitted to say anything until Sasaki has cleared waivers. While there's no doubt that preparations are being made for the second coming of the Daimajin, officially they can't talk with Sasaki until the 24th.

Baseball Guru Garland-san has a little more detail [Link] on possible reasons behind Sasaki's return.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
