This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Seibu's bats seemed to have come alive Friday and Saturday as the Lions out clubbed the Hawks 10-2 and 11-8 the first two games of the three game series. Perhaps the most incredible thing is that they scored said 21 runs without a home run by either Cabrera nor McClain.
But Sunday, McClain's solo home run against Tanoue (working on 3 days' rest) accounted for the Lions' only run in their 6-1 loss.
There is still no magic number "lit up" in the Pacific League as Seibu and Kintetsu still have 4 games left to play against each other with just 1/2 game separating them. The current (end of 9/16) line looks like this:
80
79
78
77
76
8-1 .571
7-2 .564
6-3 .557
5-4 .550
4-5 .543
9-1 .572
8-2 .565
7-3 .558
6-4 .551
9-1 .561
8-2 .554
7-3 .547
Because the best winning percentage will take the pennant in the Pacific League, Kintetsu may actually take it all with less wins than Seibu. So the advantage right now is with the Buffaloes.
Daiei is in the biggest pinch so far as controlling their own destiny is concerned as they only have one game remaining between both Seibu and Kintetsu. On the other hand, they have 4 games remaining against Nippon Ham whom they've dominated (17 and 6 with 1 tie) so far this season.
