Andy Tracey to Japan?
April 24, 2005 - Colorado Rockies released infielder Andy Tracy from Triple-A Colorado Springs so he could pursue an opportunity in Japan.

Any word on what team is about to sign Tracey?

The Rockies sold Tracy's contract to the Rakuten Eagles for $150,000 according to the Boulder Daily Camera. [Link - via Google News]

This guy could help the Eagles. He batted .315 with 33 home runs and 120 RBIs last year at Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Tracy will recieve a 50 million yen contract from the Eagles. He will arrive in Japan by the end of the month. Tracy should a be a good left-handed power bat for the Eagles.

Rakuten also said that they plan on adding another foriegn player. [Link - Japan Ball]

Rakuten should definitely think about getting a good foreigner, and so far, I think Tracy was a right pick.

I played with Andy from 10 years old thru college. He's got a big stick and is fun to watch. He's a 30+ home run guy.
