September 4th - The Old Dinosaur
Yes Miura is still pitching with the BayStars and there is still life in the olde dogie yer. However, not enough to overcome a Tigers who even though handicapped with Tsuruoka behind the plate were always able to come back. Iwazaki started and was handed a one run lead which he promptly lost. Tigers then took the lead on a Gomez home run but then next innings Kuwahara got on base. With one out Blanco was next and you knew he was going to hit a home run which he did 3-2 BayStars. Tigers then got runners on in the sixth and Wada went with the pinch hitters - three of them (someone must have told him that a bunch is better than a single surgical strike and besides which he doesn't have Hiyama anymore). Saka drove in a run and then Uemoto added two more. Of course with Tsuruoka gone that meant that Umeno had to handle the relief which he did like a veteran guiding Andoh out of a crisis and holding the victory 5-3. Incidentally, Uemoto got another at bat after his two run hit and Wada had him bunt! What kind of stupidity is that?
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
