Japan Punches Ticket to LLWS Finals
Once again, the Japanese Little Leaguers from Tokyo, Japan scored a dramatic victory. This time, it only took them until the bottom of the 6th to win it.

Ryo Kanekubo hit the dramatic sayonara grand slam, which was on the heels of an earlier home run he smacked in the top of the 5th inning to tie the game at 3. When Curacao scored in the top of the 6th inning, things looked bleak for Japan, but Kanekubo came through with the big hit, sending Japan home winners, 7-4.

Japan now heads to the Little League World Series Final against Warner Robins, Georgia, the winners of the USA championship. Georgia defeated Lubbock, Texas by a score of 4-2 to earn their spot in the final.

Two times a team from Georgia has been to the LLWS final, and both times they won, including last year against Japan, so this final is essentially a rematch of last year.

The LLWS final between Warner Robins, GA and Tokyo, Japan can be seen on ABC tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 [time zone?].
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
