Probable Pitchers?

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Probable Pitchers?
Please help me with info on probable pitchers. Where can I find who will start, his stats, and other info? I am from Russia, but I like Japan and baseball.

I would like to congratulate all of you with the WBC win!

But I need help with my problem.

You'll see a link to Borisov's Pro Yakyu site on the left there, he usually puts the probable pitchers up on game days, and as for stats, his site or this site are always good for stats.

The Pacific League's been posting the probable starters here if you can read Japanese, too. I assume the Central League will have something like that eventually as well.

That is, if the Central League changes its longstanding policy of not announcing probable starters.

Oh, wow, I didn't realize that. I've followed the teams in the Pacific League a lot more than the Central, so I never actually noticed that before. Oops, sorry, my bad!

Still, yeah, in theory we could piece together a good guess at when some of the CL pitchers will be up, given the teams' rotation. It'd just give a new definition to "probable," which would be closer to "we guess" and further from "is scheduled."

While the Central League teams keep the next game starter a "top secret" until game time, they do tend to stick to a regular starting rotation of five pitchers, each pitching on 4 to 6 days rest.

As it so happens, today's Nikkan Sports lists the Giants' final rotation going into opening day this Friday. The rotation will be Uehara, Kudoh, Takahashi Hisanori, Powel, and Glover. It's a good bet that Uehara and Kudoh will start the first two games of the season in that order, barring fever or injury. The rest of the rotation will most likely fluctuate with other pitchers coming in and out during the regular season.

I know that Hiroshima is going to have their top 3 working on 4 days rest and 4th and 5th on 5 days.

Marty Brown told one of the English papers (can't think which one right now) that he has told Kuroda to expect 36 starts and he projects him to win 25 of them.

He wants Ohtake and Douglass to make 30+ starts as well. He went on to say that this would work if he could keep them at around 115 pitches a start.

Being a Lotte fan, I wish we had a few extra days before we started so our rotation could have been reset after the WBC, as this past weekend was harsh.
