This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Starting pitchers were Igawa and Ishikawa. Ishikawa got into trouble in the first innings - Sekimoto hit and reached second and then Kanemoto put a home run into the right stand. In the bottom of the second Igawa walked Ramirez but then retired the next three batters.
Igawa, in fact, didn't allow a hit until the fifth and was in total command. In the sixth Lin Wei-Tsu hit a solo home run pushing the score to three to zero.
Igawa's greatest threat came in the eighth when he loaded the bases with only one out but Riggs grounded into a double play and so the inning ended. In fact Igawa pitched the entire game, and in the ninth struck out the first two batters. In trying to strike out the next two he gave away a hit and walked the next one, but struck out the final batter to end the game.
All in all a superb performance by Igawa against what was basically the Swallow's full side. Possibly this was his last game for Tigers before he goes to the majors.
