when/if fukudome comes to the US..
Would you consider him the third best hitter to come out of Japan and into the MLB after Hideki Matsui and Ichiro (of course)?

I consider him to be one of the better hitters, but you also have to consider Aoki of Yakult. While still young, and while it is too early to make an Ichiro comparision, he is starting to look very similar.

I would say Fukudome. The Giants' Takahashi when healthy is the best. Aoki, after a few more years, is going to be really good. Those three stand out.

Whatever they do, I hope the Mets don't get him and announce they signed a "five tool player." That would be the kiss of death for him.
