Strong Hawks CM

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Strong Hawks CM
I'd had a busy opening day weekend and was unable to see but a few innings of a couple of games. I even missed the key games at Koshien (Osaka Toin and the 20 K game on Sunday). So I'm very happy to get to watch the Hawks vs. Eagles this evening.

One of the commercials really struck me as a great production. It's the commercial for the Hawks season opening. The YouTube version appears to be cut short from what JSports is showing. It's got Saitoh and Matsunaka in a boxing ring with the rest of the team surrounding it. Saitoh is throwing the ball to Matsunaka, and Matsunaka is hitting one bounders and line drives back to Saitoh. At one point Matsunaka's bat shatters on a hit out of the ring. Finally, Kokubo challenges Saitoh (the exchange is much longer than the YouTube version). It's a commercial with impact.

Too bad we don't get to see what Seibu put together with the Matsuzaka money. But it'd be hard to beat Softbank's.

Wow, that is an awesome commercial! I really love the interaction between them, it's just funny.

There's a Seibu commercial up on YouTube actually, which looks rather pretty, but not nearly as funny/engaging as the Hawks one. Features a ball traveling to/from various Lions players (I spotted Wakui, Ginjiro, Nakajima, and Onodera at least) with the team slogan "One heart, One Power" on it.

I like these commercial links. Does anybody know of any more? Especially for Yomiuri and Hanshin? Yoroshiku.

Check out Deanna's blog. She's got links to the whole series of Strong Hawks commercials, as well as their commercials from 2006.
