General Pro Yakyu Info
Hi all,

I work for an online UK baseball magasine - Strike UK - and we are trying to branch out from the UK and US leagues and Japan seemed like a good place to go first. So, I was wondering if anyone can tell me somewhere to go for some general info on the whole league systems, history, top players, etc.? Or even better, someone who would like to do an article about it?

Thanks a lot.

This site obviously has a lot of information, but it may be a little challenging to extract it. I somewhat immodestly will suggest you start here [BaseballGuru.com]. I'd suggest starting with the primer, and then you can go to the Data Archive, Gary Garland's columns for recent information, and my own articles on the history of the game.

Gary Garland has started his own site here [JapanBaseballDaily.com]. Gary's site looks like it will be a great addition, but it's still new and under construction.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
