Japanese Ties - World Cup

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Japanese Ties - World Cup
In addition to the Japanese team, several other 2007 Baseball World Cup players have ties to Japan.

Rakuten's En-Yu Lin is on the Taiwan roster, as is former Seibu hurler Ming-Chieh Hsu.

Italy has a Brazilian catcher - Luis Ricardo Serafin De Camargo - who played in either ni-gun or the Japanese industrial leagues (the Italian media guide says Japan's minor leagues).

Panama has former NPB player Sherman Obando as one of its big threats.

There might be others I haven't noticed

For details on the Cup action, see the 2007 Baseball World Cup page at Baseball-Reference.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
