This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Takatsu may have had a bad year, but he's an icon with Yakult fans. His release really angered the few loyal Yakult fans left. Kaz Ishii was the second best starter Yakult had after Seth Greisinger. Their rotation was absolutely atrocious in 2007, so they better hope Satoh has a Maa-kun type rookie campaign. Ramirez has been the most consistent bat on the team since 2001, and he's coming off a career year in which he reached a Central League record of 204 hits.
Ishii looks to be on his way to Seibu, who could really use his services. I see Ramirez going to Rakuten. I think they'll offer him the multi-year deal he wants.
I really do feel sorry for Yakult fans. They'll be fighting for last place with Hiroshima.
