Giants' Gear for Big People

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Giants' Gear for Big People
I'm looking for a Giants' jersey in what in America would be size XXL. I'm 6 ft 3 and about 250 lbs, so the prospect of a jersey from YakyuShop is not heartening.

As well, I'm looking for a Giants' hat, in size 7 3/4ths. Yakyushop doesn't carry sizes that big.

I've tried to wade through merchandise on the Giants' web site, but I can't read Japanese. Can anybody help?

I don't think you'll find anything pre-made to such specifications. Konishiki, when he threw out the first pitch for a Giants' game a few years ago, had a uniform specially made for him. You're not that big, but will probably be best off getting one tailor made.

I'd recommend getting the largest Yomiuri uniform you can, then get a San Francisco Giants' uniform in your size. Take that to a tailor who can take the patches off the Yomiuri one and sew them onto the stripped down SF one in the proper places.

You get one uniform for the price of two, but it should work.
