BayStars Season Tickets

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
BayStars Season Tickets
A little background. I've been in Japan since '96. I attend about 20 games a year (Yokohama) plus about 6 Hanshin games on my trips to Tigers land. However, I stay in Kamiooka. I'd like to change the way I go to games. Usually I just head to the window, but I'd like to have them before hand for once. I checked out the season ticket package. 3,500,000 (350-man) yen for 50 games? Not really a deal. I know in MLB they usually sell like 10 game or 20 game packages. Anyone ever seen any info like this? I suppose my inability to read Japanese is my major downfall here.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Great site BTW. Wish there was a little more action though. I been lurking for a long time, so I guess I should complain. Actually, not a complaint. Just wish there were more information in English like this fantastic site carries. Anyway, thanks.

Go BayStars!

I think you may have one too many 0s in your figure. That comes out to be 7-man yen per game (for 50 games). Even 7,000 yen per game strikes me as kind of steep, especially considering that the most expensive ticket (behind home plate) is 6,500 yen.

I tend to go to the nearby convenience store (SanKus or Lawsons) about a month before the game(s) I want to attend to have my tickets before hand.

For Shonan SeaRex games (ni-gun) at Oppama Kyujyo (a short walk from where I live), it has been just 10,000 yen for season passes, or 1,000 yen at the window. Information isn't yet up for this season, though. It's good access from Kamiooka via the Keihin Kyuko line if you're interested in the future 'Stars.

That's the number I got off the BayStars site. I figured about $3,000 American dollars or so. Seemed steep to me also. Maybe I miscalculated.

As far as Shonan, I actually played on that field once when we rented it with my club team. Nice little cozy spot. Y10,000 you say? That is a great price. I had no idea! I'm definitely going to pick that up. That is just a slight detour on my way home everyday. 5:00 or 6:00 starts would be perfect.

Really appreciate the info and massaging my mind on the possibilities of how much baseball potentially will get watched this season.

Let's get the boys back from Okinawa ST and start the season. Please push fast-forward.

- 3,500,000 (350-man)

You've got something very wrong; that's almost the average annual wage. Are you sure you looked at the right page?

The Bay Blue Seat 50 Pack includes having your company logo sicker placed on your seats, with advertisements along the bottom of the monitors inside the stadium, and specially designed tickets for the premium package.

When I first saw ads for the Bay Blue Seats on the train, my first thought was that it was awfully expensive for season tickets. Then I realized that it was an advertisement deal that they were selling. Furthermore, priority is given to Bay Blue Seat ticket holders for post season and/or other special games ("just like at Yankee Stadium in the Majors").

And there was one too many 0s - that's for the price of 350,000 (35-man) yen. The Basic Bay Blue seats are 315,000 yen, which comes to 5,000 yen a game for 63 home games (that's how many are scheduled at Yokohama Stadium - but the page doesn't say if the season tickets cover all 63 scheduled Yokohama Stadium games).

But the Bay View Seats (in yellow, up above the Bay Blue Seats) are a better deal at 198,000 yen for the season, or even the Marine Seats in the outfield for 148,000 yen.

If you can attend that many games in a season, then the other season ticket packages look like a good deal. The Bay Blue Seats would be for entertaining clients at HamaSta on a regular basis (but don't really add much for your average fan).

Ah, yes. Thanks for the break down. It's very tempting but I think I'll go down and pick out 20/25 or so single game tickets. It would be cool be a "Season ticket holder", but laying that kind of cash down on one swoop for baseball? Hey, I'm all in, but the wife would kill me. Better not make an attempt!

However, Season Tickets for Shonan, that is a go! :b

Thanks guys.
