2008 Foreign All-Stars
So, who gets your early vote to be the 4 "gaikokujin" in each league to play in this season's All-Star Games? I have a few guys in mind, but I'm not sure there will even be 4 per league chosen.

Hmm, well since I watch mostly Pacific League I can't really speak for the Central League players. But for the Pacific teams I like:
  • Craig Braszell - .276 avg., 10 HR, 18 RBI - definatly puts him in my top 4.
  • Jose Fernandez - Though his BA has dropped lately, I expect that to go back up and he is an RBI machine!
  • Rick Short - Solid hitter and fielder. Rakuten is hitting him third right now.
Really those are the only 3 I can think of. I haven't seen any all star quality pitching from anyone. I like Rhodes' numbers, of course, but I don't believe he counts as a foreigner?

Anyways this is my first season so let me know if I am completely wrong. :P

No doubt on Craig Brazell.

Pitching wise, Alex Graman (Seibu) has had some nice saves so far with a pretty decent "K" percentage.

For the Central League it could be:
  • Guiel - .318,8 HR 21 RBI
  • Ochoa - .333 4HR
  • Griesenger - 2-1 33.1 IP,29K 2.4 ERA
  • Kroon - 5S 0.71 ERA
  • Lewis 3-2 33.1 41K, 2.7

Until the Dragons got a hold of Atchison, he had also been putting up great numbers. Hopefully it continues, but I have a feeling he's performing a bit over his head.

When talking about foreign CL all-stars, don't forget Alex Ramirez.

I realize that this is an old thread, but I just need to add this.

CL All-Star Locks at this point are Rami-Chan and Colby Lewis. Ramirez leads the league in many offensive categories at the moment with hits, doubles, HRs, and RBIs. Lewis leads the way in the CL in wins, shutouts, innings pitched, and strikeouts.

I'd say Woods, Kroon, and Griesenger also have a chance.

And Brazell's and Guiel's records have really taken nosedives in May.

Brian Sweeney of the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters is 5-1. He's been pitching very well.

The Ochoa-constrictor is having a good year for Hiroshima.
