Yomiuri Giants Throwback Uniforms
Hi everyone,

Does anyone knows when the Giants used the throwback uniforms (last season and this season)?

They were worn last season during inter-league play to commemorate the franchise's 5,000th win. June 8-9 against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles and June 10-11 against the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters, both series at home. It was the off white home one against the Eagles, and the road blues against the Fighters.

And what's the deal with the Lions' throwback uniforms? They are wearing them again today. They look like a high school team.

No plans that I know of. In fact, the Giants seem to be wearing their inter-league uniforms even after inter-league is over, like in the game today at Nagoya. Maybe they think it brings good luck, as they went 14-10 in inter-league.

The Giants' inter-league only uniforms that now appear to be their regular road unis are considerably better than those black tops that they have worn on the road the past couple of seasons, but the Giants apparently forgot that road uniforms should be darker than the opponents' white home unis. I mean, when the Giants wear those "road" jerseys, they don't look much darker than their opponents' whites.

For comparison, the SF Giants' off-white home unis are darker than the Y Giants' "inter-league special" road unis.
