Hawks - Buffaloes Trade

Hawks - Buffaloes Trade
Arihito Muramatsu (Orix OF) was traded for Naoyuki Ohmura (SoftBank OF) today October 31, 2008. Any thoughts on who got the better of the trade?

Orix got the better deal. Ohmura is younger and still good enough to start, while Muramatsu is probably a reserve at this point in his career.

Agreed, great trade by Orix. I don't understand why SoftBank traded Ohmura. He still can play a decent outfield, plus he's a year away from free agency, so they could've gotten something for him had he signed with another team in the 2009 off-season.

I like Muramatsu, but he's getting up there in age, I think, and it's starting to show.

Note that Muramatsu actually started his career with the Hawks, and was part of the team when - you guessed it - current manager Koji Akiyama was his teammate.

Ohmura was a Kintetsu Buffalo, so it's a homecoming of sorts for both players.
