Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Saitama Sports
Seeing the lack of excitement over the start of the Lions season this year has me wondering if they will survive in Saitama. There were only 18,000 for the opener of the defending Japan Champions - That's crazy.

Saitama is definetely a football prefecture. Urawa Reds tickets are the hardest ticket to buy in Japan (so I'm told). I'm wondering if the J-League is killing baseball, or at least the Lions.

The J-League is definetly not killing baseball, the old-group owners, though, most certainly are. Also the way the corporations run the teams are another reason this happens, in my opinion.

Also, I wonder how much the recent Seibu scandal is hurting the team's marketing campaigns. There was talk of selling the Lions late last year. Seibu also sold the naming rights of their stadium and minor league team to Invoice.
