This Google Map shot has all three cities. Query each in turn (i.e. "Kanazawa, Japan") to find where each one is close up if you can't read Japanese.
Kyoto is north and a little east of Osaka. Kanazawa is further in the same north-eastern direction, but all the way to the Japan Sea side and well north of Tokyo.

As far as travel time is concerned, Osaka is about 30 minutes from Kyoto on the JR line. If you wanted to go to Osaka Dome or Koshien, you should allow at least an extra half hour for connections and the rail travel itself.
Kanazawa is about two hours from Kyoto on the Thunderbird Express.
