Where are the Teams From?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Where are the Teams From?
Please let me know where the teams actually play. Their names are rather cryptic. Are they corporate sponsored names?

They are not corporate sponsored, per se. They are actually owned by those corporations.

Hanshin Tigers - Nishinomiya, Hyoga Prefecture
Hiroshima Carp - Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture
Yakult Swallows - Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo Metropolitan Area
Yokohama BayStars - Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture
Yomiuri Tokyo Giants - Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo Metropolitan Area

Pacific League:

Chiba Lotte Marines - Chiba, Chiba Prefecture
Fukuoka Daiei Hawks - Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture
Nippon Ham Fighters - Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo Metropolitan Area (next year will be Sapporo, Hokkaido)
Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes - Osaka, Osaka Prefecture
Orix Blue Wave - Kobe, Hyoga Prefecture
Seibu Lions - Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture

Latham-san's site has a section entitled Where They Play. It includes detailed maps on how to get to the stadiums. I think that that might be what you're looking for.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
