Shigetoshi Hasegawa?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Shigetoshi Hasegawa?
I was under the impression that Shigetoshi Hasegawa only pitched in the minors in Japan, never in NPB. However, I just came across a stat line of his in 1992. How many years did he actually pitch in NPB?

Hasegawa pitched 6 years for Orix before crossing the Pacific. Furthermore, he was ranked in the top 10 Pacific League pitchers (ERA) 4 of those 6 years.

I'll enter his career data on his player page later today.

Yeah, what Westbay said. A page that has Shiggy's whole career data on both sides of the Pacific is here [PospeLove.com - in Japanese]. It also has links to his Koshien experience when he went to Toyodai Himeji HS.

Are you thinking of Tomokazu Ohka, maybe? He only pitched a total of 57.1 mediocre innings at ichi-gun in his five years after being drafted by Yokohama before coming to the MLB.

Ah, thank you both very much. That's very helpful. I think I may have been thinking of Ohka.
