Carlos Bauer's book gives his date of death as November 13, 1990. Is that the date of the accident?

A googol search of the name Bobby Marcano yielded this article [Japan Times] which says Marcano died of cancer.
There are a couple of sites in Japanese which mention him -- but I can't help with what they might say.

I have Marcano basic stats in the minors in the U.S. from 1969-1974, but it doesn't list winter ball.
