H. Matsui RBI double helps Yankees to 7th straight win
Hideki Matsui hit an RBI double in a two-run first inning as the
New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 to extend their
winning streak to seven games Wednesday.

Matsui doubled to deep left off Dustin McGowan to put the
Yankees on the board after Bobby Abreu and Alex Rodriguez drew
back-to-back walks at Rogers Centre.

''It was a two-seamer that got away from me. I was able to hit
it pretty well,'' Matsui said.

He was 1-for-2 with two walks on the night while recording his
fourth stolen base of the season.

At Safeco Field, Ichiro Suzuki went 1-for-5 with an RBI single
in the sixth inning and committed his first error of the season in
the Seattle Mariners' 6-5 walkoff victory over the Oakland Athletics.
