聖光学院の初陣勝利はならなかった。打線が相手左腕河津尚幸（３年）の前に３安打と沈黙。エース鈴木健太（３年）が、１２安打されながら４失点と健闘したが及ばなかった。斎藤智也監督（４３）は「３点目をスクイズで取りにいったが失敗した。あれが大きい。３、４点取れるところだった」と悔やんだ。
