広島のエース黒田がわずか８９球で今季初の完投勝ちし、デーゲームの連勝を１２に伸ばした。「３回に５点を先制してくれたので、ストライク先行の組み立てで勝負ができ、余裕を持ってピッチングをすることができた」。早打ちの横浜打線にも助けられ、７安打されても３併殺を切り抜けた。「難しいゴロもあったがよく守ってくれた」とバックへの感謝も忘れなかった。
