ロッテ小林宏の本拠地不敗神話が止まった。今季１２戦投げて７勝無敗の千葉マリンで今季最短の１回１／３、６失点でＫＯされた。初回に２点を失うと、２回にも２四球などで１死満塁のピンチを招き、本多に３点目となる中前適時打を浴びたところで降板。「大事な試合を壊してしまいチームメート、ファンに申し訳ない。今日ほど自分のことを情けなく思ったことはない」とガックリ。バレンタイン監督も「変化球の制球に苦しみ、そこから抜け出せなかった」とぶ然としていた。
