仏頂面で、凡打の嵐を傍観するしかなかった。ヒルマン監督がフラストレーションをためたまま記者会見に登場した。「今日は３安打なので（２安打の）昨日よりはマシだ」。実際は４安打なのに、１本少なく間違えたほど、完ぺきに抑え込まれた。１、２戦で計６安打はシリーズのワーストタイ記録という屈辱的な貧打ぶり。ダルビッシュの好投で勝った前夜は苦笑いで振り返れたが、一夜明けてそんな余力はなかった。
