「安福」けん引はお任せ！ ベテラン矢野輝弘捕手（３９）がオープン戦に初出場し、安藤、福原の右の両エースを見事にアシストした。開幕投手が最有力な安藤とのコンビでは、二塁へのクイックスローで２度にわたり走者を刺した。沖縄春季キャンプで左アキレス腱痛を発症。調整遅れが心配されたが、初出場とは思えぬハツラツとした動きで、初安打も記録した。
